What is MLK Day and why do we celebrate?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an official federal holiday in the United States, observed on the third Monday of January. It serves as a tribute to the influential civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his enduring impact on society.

This holiday provides an opportunity to honor and commemorate Dr. King’s significant contributions to the advancement of civil rights, equality, and nonviolent activism.

Unity Weekend celebrates Dr. King’s legacy by bridging students, athletes, and corporations. Through mentorship, technology, education, and community engagement, we create pathways for future leaders while strengthening ties between business and higher education.
